The Federal Firefighters of Hawaii prides itself as being the largest Federal Local in the IAFF.  In 2009, Local F263 hit a record 310 members out of a possible 312.    Every employee matters and we believe in the Union philosophy of “strength in numbers and greater strength in greater numbers”!  Our priorities are fighting for our rights under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, fighting for overtime pay due to our members under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), keeping our work environment safe from hazards identified by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and promoting “Brotherhood” through community events.

We continue to strive for a 100% membership and we believe that we have shown our brothers and sisters of the Federal Fire Department Hawaii that we are an organization with direction.  We will continue to pursue issues that matter the most and will ultimately benefit the majority.  We openly extend a warm invitation to our Union meetings to any non-member who would like to hear what the Union does on a daily basis.

We thank our Brothers and Sisters for your dedication and commitment in making this Union what it is today!

In Solidarity,
Reid Shimabukuro
President
